1. GENERAL
The pump should only be installed and commissioned by a qualified
person.
1.1 General characteristics and performance
• Min/max temperature of liquid pumped
• Depth of immersion
• Particle size
Liquids permitted :
• Slightly acid / slightly alkaline
• Maximum chlorine content : 150 mg/l
1.2 Range of uses
Submersible pumps SBS 2-204 are intended for pumping clean or
slightly dirty water and clean liquids (with a specific gravity close to
that of water) from vats, tanks and reservoirs or other vessels
containing a maximum of 10 mm of solid material.
They are used mainly :
• For pumping out cellars and land,
• For lifting slightly foul water,
• In ecological and water treatment techniques,
• For industrial applications,
• Removing flood water, rainwater and water from carparks,
• Emptying cellars and pools,
• Emptying heating sumps.
These pumps must not be used :
• For pumping dirty water or sewage,
• In areas where there is a risk of explosion,
• For pumping drinking water.
The pumps may be installed permanently or temporarily, so long as
they are kept vertical.
1.3 Construction
Hydraulics
- Solid bloc, vertical shaft common to pump and motor.
- Single-stage with semi-open impeller.
- Maximum granule size : Ø 10 mm.
- Oil-filled middle chamber.
- Double sealed by mechanical gaskets mounted in tandem.
Motor
- Motor cased in stainless steel (1.4301 / AISI 304) pump casing and
hydraulics in plastic.
- Isulation class
- Protection index
The motors are fitted with a thermal motor protection (1~: thermal
winding contact (WSK), 3~: thermal motor control) that automatically
switches the motor of if there is a threat of it overheating and
switches it back on again once it has cooled down. A capacitor is
fitted at the 1~ motor to generate the rotary field.

You should comply with any local standards.
2. SAFETY
These instructions contain essential safety procedures, which must
be followed when assembling and commissioning the pump. Both
installer and user should read them carefully and MUST read them
before assembling and commissioning. This applies not only to the
general instructions in this section, but also to the specific instructions
in the paragraphs below.
Only use in decorative water features, garden ponds, etc. Do not
use in pools intended for bathing.
2.1 Symbols used in the manual

and its operation.
2.2 Electrical connections
The electrical installation must be carried out under the
supervision of a qualified electrician. You should also
comply with any local regulations.
- Ensure that the installation complies with the standards in force on
the site.
- Check that the electrical circuit is fitted with a very sensitive earth
leakage circuit breaker (30mA maximum) to protect users.
- Ensure that the electrical connections are protected from any
moisture.
- See the annexe "Basic Safety Instructions".
2.3 Dangers of not following the instructions
Failure to observe the safety instructions may be dangerous for
people, the pump or the installation. It may also lead to the
cancellation of the guarantee.
The precise dangers incurred may include :
• Failure of important functions of the pump or the installation.
• Dangers to people from electric shock, mechanical injury or
bacterial infection.
2.4 Safety instructions for the user
Follow these instructions to avoid any risk of accident.
Do not take risks with electricity.
Obey electrical standards in force.
