first time. Adhere to the safety information for the correct and safe use of the unit.
Intended Use
The halogen spotlight is designed for operation under water and above the water surface. It can be
used as a standing light to a maximum immersion depth of 1 m under water.

Danger to persons can emanate from this unit if it is not used in accordance with the intended use
and in the case of misuse. If used for purposes other than that intended, our warranty and operating
permit will become null and void.
Safety Instructions

Tetra has manufactured this unit to the current state of the art and the valid safety regulations. Despite
of this, danger for persons and assets could emanate from this unit, if it is used inappropriately or for
purposes other than those intended, or if the safety information is ignored.
For safety reasons, children and young persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who
cannot recognise possible danger or who are not familar with these operating instructions, are

not permitted to use this unit! Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place! Also hand
over the operating instructions when passing the unit on to a new owner. Ensure that all work with
this unit is only carried out in accordance with these instructions.
The combination of water and electricity can imply a high risk to life and limb, if the unit is incorrectly

connected or inappropriately handled.
Electrical connection
For your own safety, please contact an electrical specialist for questions and problems! Electrical

installations for garden ponds and swimming pools must correspond to the national construction
determinations. The safety transformer must be supplied via a residual current protective fixture (FI
switch or RCD) with a measured current of not more than 30 mA. The halogen spotlight may only
be operated with the supplied safety transformer in accordance with VDE 0570 / EN 61558. Never

carry out technical changes to the unit. Only operate the unit when plugged into a correctly fitted
socket. Only use cables approved for outside use. Electrical data of the supply power and that
specified on the nameplate on the safety transformer must agree. The installed bulb wattage may
not exceed the transformer power according to the nameplate. The transformer is designed for
outdoor use in an ambient temperature between - 10°C to + 35°C. Do not expose the transformer
to direct sunlight. The halogen spotlight is designed for use in pond water in a temperature range
between +4°C to +35°C. Do not operate the halogen spotlight if the connecting cable, the safety
transformer or the pond light appear defective! Keep the connecting points dry! Do not carry or pull
the halogen spotlight or the safety transformer by the power cords! Never open the casing of the
halogen spotlight if there are not specific instructions in this regard in the operating instructions.
The halogen spotlight is designed exclusively for operation with 12V low voltage. Life-threatening
danger exists when connecting to 230 V.
Setup and operation
The unit is supplied fully assembled as a complete set containing one or three spotlights, including
light bulbs. Always unplug the power plugs of all devices located in the pond and of the halogen
spotlight before working on the garden spotlight and pond spotlight! The transformer must have at
least 2 m clearance to the edge of the pond. Position the transformer where it cannot be flooded!
