CALIBRATION PROCEDURE WHEN REPLACING
THE MEASURING UNITS OR THE DISPLAY UNIT
1.
INTRODUCTION
In case of connecting the measuring units from the Shaft Alignment Tool
TMEA 1, TMEA 1P and TMEA 1PEx to a new display unit or vice versa,
the calibration data stored in the measuring units have to be transferred
to the display unit. This is done by following the below procedure.
2.
DOWNLOADING NEW CALIBRATION DATA
2.1
TMEA 1 system
2.1.1
Connect both measuring units to the display unit. Make sure
that the S and M units are connected to the corresponding
connector on the display unit.
2.1.2
When switching on the system, press simultaneously the ON
button and the Next button. When the system downloads the
calibration data, it is confirmed by showing four corner signs in
each result display, the buttons can be released.
2.1.3
When the download is completed, the signs will disappear.
The download will take about 4-5 seconds.
2.1.4
The new calibration data is now transferred to the display unit and
will be used in the calculations. The system is now ready for use.
2.1.5
Technical explanation
Calibration data for each measuring unit is kept in the measuring
unit itself. This data is transferred to the display unit during the
production of the system. When the display unit has read the
calibration data it is stored in a table in its memory. This calibration
data is used in all the calculations in the system. As long as no
new calibration data is present, the display unit expects to use
the same measuring units all the time. The display unit does not
load calibration data from the measuring units every time the
system is switched on. So, when replacing either the measuring
unit or the display unit you must download the calibration data
from both measuring units as described above.
