MEASURING METHODS
• In the mouth (oral):
Put the thermometer underneath your tongue. The instrument
must have good contact with the tongue. Close the mouth and
breath calmly through your nose in order not to influence the
measurement by the inhaled air. Minimum measuring time:
30 seconds
• In the anus (rectal):
This is the most reliable method and the most appropriate for ba-
bies and children. Carefully immerse the tip of the thermometer
2-3 cm into the anus. Minimum measuring time: 10 seconds
• Underneath the arm (axillary):
Under medical aspects this measuring method will lead to
inaccurate results. Therefore it is not appropriate to get exact
measurements. Minimum measuring time: 30 seconds
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• The thermometer is appropriate for the measurement of the
body temperature only!
• Do not interrupt the measurement before the signalling tone
[beep] indicates that the minimum measurement time is comple-
ted.
• The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be
swallowed by children. Therefore never leave the thermometer
unattended to children.
• Protect the thermometer from tremor and shock!
• Avoid bending of the tip more than 45°!
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the ther-
mometer!
• Only water or the disinfectants listed in the section «cleaning
and disinfecting» are to be used for cleaning. The thermometer
must be intact when it is immersed in liquid disinfectant.
• The thermometer has a long-life battery. For disposal, please
comply with local regulations for special waste.
• Regular checks on the accuracy of the measurement system
should be carried out in accordance with the valid directives of
the individual countries, governing this issue.
• Wireless communication devices, such as home networking de-
vices, mobile phones, cordless phones and their base stations,
walkie-talkies can affect this thermometer. Therefore, a mini-
mum distance of 11 feet should be kept from such devices.
