OFF position. If the plug is connected to a receptacle
while the power switch is in the ON position, the pow-
er tool will start operating immediately, which could
cause a serious accident.
▪ Make sure that the cord and the plug are in order. If the
replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has
to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the
power tool prior to any adjustment, servicing or main-
tenance.
▪ In case the work area is remote from the power
source, use as short as practicable extension cord
with proper cross-section.
▪ Check that the auxiliary handle is properly mounted
and reliably tightened.
SWITCHING ON - SWITCHING OFF
The sander is secured against unintentional switching
on.
Switching on: First press locking button 4.2, and then
press ON/OFF switch 4.1.
For continuous operation the machine is equipped with
a switch which can be locked in ON position. The ON/
OFF switch 4.1 can be locked. In this case while holding
switch 4.1 press button 4.2 and then release the switch.
The machine shall keep running.
Switching off: Release switch 4.1. In case the switch is
locked, first press and then release that switch.
MOUNTING THE ACCESSORIES
The standard set includes backing pad with flange nut
for direct mounting onto the spindle and hook-and-loop
fixing to the operating tool and D-shaped handle.
D-shaped handle 19 must be always mounted during
any operation with the machine.
The auxiliary handle 6 is fixed by two bolts 17 and wash-
ers 20 under the bolt heads to the machine gear box.
Tightening and unscrewing the bolts is performed with a
SW13 spanner. Handle orientation to the machine body
complies with operator's convenience.
D-shaped handle 19 is screwed directly to the machine
gear box.
It is possible to deliver the power tool with different ac-
cessories.
When mounting or dismounting polishing and sanding
tools (accessories) by screwing/unscrewing onto the
spindle, fix the sander spindle 1 by depressing the lock
button 2 positioned on the gear box.
WARNING: Never press the button 2 while
the spindle is still rotating!
MOUNTING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE
The auxiliary handle 6 may be mounted during any op-
eration with the machine.
The auxiliary handle 6 can be mounted alternatively to
the right or left side of the gear box. It is screwed directly
to the machine gear box.

EN
The auxiliary handle 15 is fixed by bolts 17 on conical
washers 16 using spanner 18 directly to the machine
gearbox. The outer cone of washers 16 shall coincide
with the internal cone of side openings in the handle 15.
FLEXIBLE BACKING PAD
The backing pad 5 can be screwed directly onto the spin-
dle. The hook-and-loop operating tools 14 (sandpaper,
polishing sponge, felt wheel, lambswool pad, etc.) can be
fixed directly onto the backing pad.
To dismount (unscrew) the backing pad use a spanner
when necessary.
To use the machine with the backing pad with a fixing
flange 7 place the support flange 8, the backing pad 7
and the sandpaper 10 onto the spindle. Tighten the fixing
flange 9 using a pin spanner 12.
FIXING THE OPERATING TOOL TO THE
HOOK-AND-LOOP (VELCRO) BACKING
PAD
The operating tool fastened to the backing pad shall
be Ømin148. The operating tool shall be aligned with
the backing pad and care shall be taken to ensure their
coaxiality. Eccentrically mounted operating tools cause
wobbling and vibrations.
WARNING: Use only pads with undamaged
hook-and-loop system. Perform a trial test for at least
30 sec at no load after replacing the backing pad.
WARNING: Vibrating or otherwise improperly
rotating backing pads must be re-placed immediately!
WIRE BRUSH
The machine can be operated with cup/wheel wire brush
with M14 thread.
Screw the wire brush onto the spindle 1 and tighten it by
the spanner.
LAMBSWOOL POLISHING PAD
Place the lambswool polishing pad on the backing pad 5
and ensure their coaxiality.
Fix the lambswool pad on the backing pad by hook-and-
loop system (VELCRO).
FELT POLISHING WHEEL AND POLISHING
SPONGE WITH FLANGE
Screw the felt wheel or the sponge with flange onto the
spindle 1.
CLOTH WHEEL (BUFF)
The cloth wheel can be fastened by a carrier consisting
of threaded stud with opening, support flange and fix-
ing flange. To mount the cloth wheel screw it onto the
spindle.
