INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death
to yourself or others, before operating
the machine, read the Safety instructions
section found on the previous pages of this
booklet.
Design and function
The Chicago Pneumatic hydraulic submersible
pumps WAP 2 and WAP 3 are designed to meet the
demand for efficient pumping. They offer a high
performance in relation to weight, are spark-proof
and withstand running dry.
The WAP 2 water pump is delivered with a 10 m
(32 ft) 2" discharge hose and the WAP 3 trash
pump with a 10 m (32 ft) 3" discharge hose.
Both hoses are fitted with snap-lock quick-release
couplings for easy connection.
The WAP 2 water pump and the WAP 3 trash
pump can be connected to a Chicago Pneumatic
power pack or any other hydraulic power source
with the required specifications (see "Technical
data").
The Chicago Pneumatic hydraulic submersible
pumps can be used for several different jobs, such
as emergency pumping, pumping in tunnels and
emptying of excavations and cellars. The WAP
2 water pump can handle solids up to 10 mm
(3/8"), and the WAP 3 trash pump can handle
solids up to 60 mm (2½").
Signs and stickers on the
machine
Signs and stickers with important information
about personal safety and machine care are
mounted on the machine. The signs and stickers
must always be legible. New signs and stickers can
be ordered from the spare parts list.
Serial number
The serial number is stamped directly onto the
machine.

Safety and operating instructions
The CE symbol mounted on the machine means
that the machine is CE approved. See the CE
declaration which is delivered with the machine for
more information.
E.H.T.M.A. category
The European Hydraulic Tool Manufacturers
Association (E.H.T.M.A.) has categorised hydraulic
power packs and tools in terms of flow rate and
working pressure.
Our pumps are categorised by the E.H.T.M.A. as
follows:
WAP 2:
E.H.T.M.A. category C
WAP 3:
E.H.T.M.A. category D
The Chicago Pneumatic hydraulic submersible
pumps are clearly marked with these E.H.T.M.A.
categories. It is important that any power source
used with the pumps is of a compatible category.
If in any doubt, consult your Chicago Pneumatic
dealer.
Performance
To achieve standard performance, the Chicago
Pneumatic WAP 2 water pump requires a nominal
oil supply of 20 l.p.m. (5 US gal/min) at a pressure
of min. 100 bar (1400 psi), and the WAP 3 trash
pump requires a nominal oil supply of 30 l.p.m. (8
US gal/min) at a pressure of min. 140 bar (2000
psi). The hydraulic oil filter must have a filter rating
of 25µ or better.
