B. HOW TO USE IT
Attention
Always remember that, even though the
system effectually helps during parking
manoeuvres, the driver is the only one
responsible during the entire operation.
Always drive safely to avoid damaging
vehicles and/or injuring people.
Parking operations conducted at high speed
(> 5 km/h) may prevent the PDC from
detecting the presence of obstacles.
Clean sensors and check function before
starting.
C. Temporary failure
The PDC may fail to work correctly under the
following conditions:
• The sensors are fi lthy or covered, for
example, ice/snow
• The vehicle is close to radio antennae
• The vehicle is approaching sources of
ultrasound waves, such as claxons,
motorcycles, etc.
• The ground surface is highly uneven
• The vehicle's load is unevenly distributed
• Persistent rainfall or sensors hit by rain
• The vehicle is too close to the obstacle
The system's operating range can diminish in
the following conditions:
• The vehicle is parked for a long time in the
sun (high temperatures) or in the cold (low
temperatures)
• the obstacle is poorly refl ective (e.g.: foam
rubber)
D. No detection
The sensors may be unable to detect the
following obstacles due to their poor refl ection
properties:
• Very low, narrow or pointy obstacles
(fences, wires or ropes)
99602ADE00 - 2 - GB - A
• Obstacles with high absorption properties
(snow, cotton wool)
• Very sharp-edged obstacles
The PDC may be unable to protect lower
bumper areas.
E. LED (1) alert
If the LED (1) starts blinking continuously when
you turn the ignition ON, the PDC is alerting you
about possible disconnection or failure of the
sound warning buzzer.
Contact your installer.
F. Operating instructions
• Switch on the engine.
• LED (1) will turn on, to signal correct PDC
functionality.
• Now PDC is ready to detect front obstacles.
• If the PDC doesn't detect any obstacle after
switching ON, it switches OFF automatically
40 s later and the LED (1) goes out.
• To switch off PDC, press the push button (3)
then LED (1) will switch off.
• To switch on PDC, turn the ignition key from
"OFF" to "ON" or press the push button (3).
LED (1) will switch on.
Attention
Every time that the ignition key is turned ON,
PDC will switch ON automatically.
To avoid any fault detection that can happen
above 5 km/h, press the push button (3) for
switching PDC OFF.
G. PRECAUTIONS
• Do not subject the sensors to strong impacts.
• Do not use spray or high pressure cleaner
on the sensors.
