Quick Setup Guide for InSUS Head
for Optical Single-Use O
1
Introduction
Thank you for buying this optical oxygen sensor from
M ETTLER TOLEDO. The InSUS™ Head is intended solely for
in-line measurement of the oxygen partial pressure in com-
bination with METTLER TOLEDO optical single-use O
sors, and the InSUS fiber optical cable with integrated Pt1000
temperature probe. The O
integrated in single-use devices such as single-use bags and
other similar applications. Please also refer to the documen-
tation provided by your single-use device supplier.

Safety instructions
h
Notice: Before every start-up, the sensor head must
be checked for:
– Damage to the connections, fastenings, etc.
– Perfect functioning
– Authorization for use in conjunction with other plant
h
Notice: The manufacturer / supplier accepts no re-
sponsibility for any damage caused by unauthorized
attachments or for the incorporation of spare parts
which are not of METTLER TOLEDO provenance. The
risk is borne entirely by the operator.
a
Caution: Before the sensor head is put into operation,
the operator must have already clarified that use of the
sensor in conjunction with the other associated equip-
ment and resources is fully authorized.
a
Caution: A defective sensor head may neither be in-
stalled nor put into operation. Faulty containment or
installation out of conformance with regulations and
instructions can lead to the escape of medium or to
pressure surges (explosion), potentially harmful both
to persons and to the environment.
a
Caution: Some components inside the sensor head
are energized with voltages which can cause lethal
shocks in case of contact. The instrument needs to be
switched to zero potential before any operation on the
wiring terminal.
a
Caution: If a sensor head is broken it must be replaced
immediately.
a
Caution: It is essential that personnel involved in the
operation or maintenance of the sensor head and any
of the associated equipment (e.g. single-use bags,
InSUS fiber optical cable, transmitters, etc.) is proper-
ly trained in the use and handling of the equipment.
a
Warning: Before dismantling the sensor head or com-
mencing any maintenance work on it, ensure that the
equipment in which the sensor is installed is in a safe
condition (e.g. power supplies switched off).
