Important information
This product must be installed properly and in accordance
with the specified assembly guidelines and may therefore
only be installed by qualified and trained skilled personnel.
For installation in structures with increased fire protection
requirements e.g. staircases, escape routes, the installation
company or skilled personnel must ensure that the specific re-
quirements according to regional building regulations are met.
Intended use
The battery-operated device is for forwarding the consump-
tion data of suitable measuring devices. The gateway is in-
tended to be used solely for this purpose.
Improper use
Any use other than the use described above and any changes
made to the device constitute improper use. Enquiries regard-
ing other uses and changes must be made in writing before-
hand and are subject to special approval.
Warranty and guarantee
Warranty and guarantee claims are only valid if the parts in
question have been used in accordance with their intended
use and if the technical requirements and any applicable tech-
nical regulations have been observed.
Safety Instructions
The devices may only be used in building services installa-
tions and only for the applications described.
The device has been designed in accordance with the guide-
lines of Protection Class III and must be mounted in compli-
ance with these regulations.
Local regulations (installation etc.) must be heeded.
Safety instructions
for lithium batteries
All RNG5-STD type gateways are supplied with voltage by
a lithium battery. This type of battery is classified as dan-
gerous goods.
THE RESPECTIVE VALID TRANSPORT REGULATIONS
MUST ALWAYS BE OBSERVED!
Test certificates for the batteries used are available on re-
quest.
Handling lithium batteries:
• Store protected from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not heat to above 100 °C or throw into fire
• Do not short-circuit
• Do not open or damage
• Do not charge
Installation
Make sure that the device has been mounted correctly and
securely on the wall. The device must not be installed in a
dusty or damp environment.
Correct disposal of this product
For the purposes of disposal, the devices are waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) as defined by European Direc-
tive 2012/19/EU and must not be disposed of with household waste.
• Dispose of the device through the appropriate channels.
• Comply with local and currently valid legislation.
• Dispose of used batteries at a dedicated collection point.

In the event of an accident, the following points must be
heeded:
In case of a leak:
• Cover with sodium carbonate or an equivalent crystal
soda
• Make gases and vapours precipitate by spraying with
water
• Make sure of sufficient ventilation
• Avoid any direct contact
In the event of injuries:
• If interior components of the dry element should come
into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water
for 15 minutes.
• In the event of contact with the skin, wash with plenty of
water and take off soiled clothing.
• Move away from the accident spot following inhalation.
• Always consult a doctor!
In the event of fire:
• Use a Lith-X or Class D fire extinguisher.
• NEVER EXTINGUISH WITH WATER
• Do not use CO2, halogen, fire extinguishers with dry
substances or foam extinguishers.
• Move away from the accident spot following inhalation
and ventilate the area.
• Always consult a doctor.

transport restrictions (ADR Class 9) apply.
Damaged devices can cause injuries!
• Never use obviously damaged devices (e.g. trans-
port damage).
• Return damaged devices to the manufacturer.
