USE AND PRECAUTIONS: The TRIPOD is a temporary and transportable anchor point; it is designed to provide an access to confined spaces: tanks,
silos, sewers, wells...
It complies with the European Regulation 2016/425 on PPE and in particular with Standard EN795 Type B, as well as the Machine Directive 2006/42/
EC (formerly 98/37 EC) for lifting loads.
Use as anchorage point for "lifting" persons:
The TRIPOD can be used in combination with self-retracting fall arrest systems (EN360), rescue devices (EN1496 class A or B) and/or suspension
work devices.
The TRIPOD complies with the requirements of the EN1808-§ 9.3 standard allowing the use of it as a suspension structure, as well as the EN795 Type
B standard allowing the use of it as a fall arrest anchorage point.
The anchorage point of the person's fall arrest system must be different from the anchorage point of the person lift system.
Use as anchorage point for load lifting:
The TRIPOD can be used in combination with suitable lifting equipment (winch type, hoist, etc.)
Max load on stand: 250 kg
Max load under head: 500 kg
The maximum loads indicated must be applied individually, it is not possible to accumulate several loads at the same time on the various anchor points
of the same TRIPOD.
WARNING, whatever the use of the TRIPOD it is ESSENTIAL that the accessories (such as fixing plate) and/or the lifting devices installed on the
TRIPOD are original or certified by KRATOS SAFETY.
Installation : see Fig. 1
1- Spread the three feet as much as possible (A).
2- Set up the three detent ball pins (B).
3- Adjust the foot strap to its largest position (C).
4- Remove the three dowel pins from the aluminum tubes (D).
5- Adjust the Tripod height, sliding one by one the aluminum
tubes and insert the dowel pins in the aluminum tube holes
(adjust the level if necessary by repeating the operations 4
and 5).
6- Set the length of the foot strap to the correct level (C).The
TRIPOD must always be installed on a horizontal surface (3
feet of the same length).
The TRIPOD must always be installed on a horizontal area (3 feet with the
same length).
The set of elements (ball pins, strap, platinum, safety pins, etc.) is captive.
The tripod has different anchor points depending on the model:
Anchorage point 1: two aluminium anchoring rings located under the tripod head for attaching an EN363 fall arrest system (self-retracting fall arrest,
sliding fall arrest on flexible belay support, etc.) or suspension work devices on rope.
The second ring allows the third person present for the operation to be hooked on the TRIPOD to be in a safe position.
Anchorage point 2:
For FA 60 001 00 and FA 60 002 00: consists of a plate with support handle already fixed on an aluminium tube for installation of an elevation rescue
device EN1496 class A or class B winch type. For FA 60 101 00 and FA 60 102 00: can be added on a stand (see label provided for this purpose) via a
fixing plate. This makes it possible to install of an EN1496 class A or class B winch type lifter.
Additional anchorage point : can be added on a stand (see label provided for this purpose) via a fixing plate. This makes it possible to install a self-
retracting fall arrest system which includes an elevation rescue device (EN360 + EN1496 Class A).
