4. Functions and description

4.1. blocfor™ 20R/30R 150 kg
• The self-closing fall arrest system blocfor™ 20R/30R
150 kg is a self-closing fall arrest system in accordance
with EN 360 : see § 4 of the enclosed blocfor™ ESD
- EN 360 leaflet.
• It is equipped with a rescue device by lifting up or
down (EN 1496 class B): recovery function allowing
the rescuer to lift and/or lower the operator after a fall.
It can be used
– vertically when installed on an anchor point.
• This device is disengaged when the blocfor™ is in fall
arrest use.
• After a fall, the mechanism of the blocfor™ is blocked.
To evacuate the operator up or down, engage the
recovery mechanism by pushing the lock button and
then operate the crank.
• The fall arrest system with automatic return blocfor™
20R/30R 150 kg is equipped with two handles to
facilitate its handling and use in rescue by lifting by
holding the equipment handle with one hand and the
crank handle with the other.
• A special anchoring bracket is used to attach the self-
closing fall arrest device blocfor™ 20R/30R 150 kg to
the tracrod anchoring rod.
• The downward rescue function is limited to a
maximum descent of 2 m. Above this height, use a
descender according to EN 341.

4.2. The console
4.2.1 Installation of blocfor™ 20R/30R on the console
It is prohibited to install a fall arrest device with
automatic return blocfor™ 20R/30R 150 kg on a
console other than that of Tractel.
Preparation of the anchor console
Adapt the position of the bracket to the type of blocfor™
: 20R or 30R.
