6. Use
6.1. Select the intensity level with CAUTION!
The power intensity level designates the power of the pulsed light administered
to your skin during treatment, ranging from the lowest (1) to the highest (5) levels.
The power indicator lights indicate the selected level of power. If you increase the
power, the results will be better, but there will also be an increased risk of side effects
(cf. the section "Possible side Effects").
CAUTION : 48 hours before using for the first time, do a test on a leg (a few flashes) using level 1,
regardless of your skin type.
If your skin reacts correctly to the test, i.e. if you do not notice any abnormal reactions or discomfort in
the 48 hours following the test, you can select the power level of your appliance for your first session using
the following chart:
For the first session, people with phototype 1 or II skin should set the appliance to level 3 at most.
Gradually, over the next few sessions, if you do not experience any specific discomfort or unpleasantness,
the power level can be increased to level 4 and then to level 5.
For the first session, people with phototype III or IV skin should set the appliance to level 2 at most.
Gradually, over the next few sessions, if you do not experience any specific discomfort or unpleasantness,
the power level can be increased to level 3 then to level 4.
For the first session, people with phototype V skin should set the appliance to level 1 at most. Gradually,
over the next few sessions, if you do not experience any specific discomfort or unpleasantness, the power
level can be increased to level 2 then to level 3.
The Homelight appliance is not suitable for use by people with phototype
VI skin.
The removable intensity selection guide helps you to select the required power
level to best suit your skin colour for treatment with the Homelight.
It shows the different skin colours and the corresponding power levels.
