USE AND PRECAUTIONS:
Lanyard FA 70 028 11 is a very simple piece of equipment to hoist up a person (or a mass) who has fallen in order to unhook the fall arrest system
and allow them to be evacuated by transferring the weight on an evacuation system (descender type). It must be assigned to a single user (it can only
be used by one person at a time).
This lanyard must not be used for lifting or lowering operations.
For this type of use, it must be connected to a system via connectors (EN362).
The readability of the markings must be checked regularly.
The maximum length is 1.10 metres. Static strength of the system > 12 kN. It is compliant with standard EN 1496:2017 Class A.

Use: This lanyard must be used mainly when the victim to be evacuated is at a distance close to the rescuer or easy to access by the rescuer, for
example evacuation on ladder, scaffolding, ...
Connect the high attachment point ① (situated by the ratchet ②) to an anchorage point that can withstand the forces generated during the evacuation
operation (preferably EN 795:2012 certified). The anchorage point must be at least 1.60 m above the attachment point on the victim. The maximum
lifting capacity is about 0.65 m.
Connect to the lower attachment point ③ of the lanyard, a descender (type FA 70 021 00) equipped with a rope and a connector (EN362), hook the
victim through this connector. The evacuation system is ready to be used.
Raise the victim up through the ratchet until the victim's fall arrest system is relaxed enough to lift the victim. During this operation, hold the straps
entering the ratchet together (Fig. 2). As soon as possible, unhook the victim from his/her fall arrest system. CAUTION: Before unhooking, make sure
that the evacuation system is properly connected to the victim (connector properly locked) and that the descender is in "rope locked" function. Fold
the ratchet upwards so that the ratchet is in the locked position. You can now evacuate the victim downwards by operating the descender (refer to the
operating instructions for the descender).
During use, take all necessary steps to protect the device from the hazards of the procedure.
WARNING: The device should be used only if the evacuation can be carried out unhindered, it should not be used if obstacles represent a danger.
Sharp edges, cantilevered support on straps, small diameter structures and corrosion are prohibited because they can affect the performance of the
lanyard. The device should only be used in the direction indicated in the instructions above, i.e. vertically.
The anchorage structure should have a high enough level of resistance (minimum 12 kN).
A lanyard must only be used by trained, competent and healthy persons or under the supervision of a trained and competent person. Warning! Certain
medical conditions can affect user safety, if in doubt please contact your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment and, therefore, the safety of the user in the case of: exposure to extreme
temperatures (<-30°C or >+50°C); prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity) or to chemical products; electrical constraints; the fall
protection system becoming twisted when in use; or sharp edges, friction, cuts, etc.
Before each use, check the condition of the lanyard: visual inspection in order to check the condition of the straps (no start of cuts, burns, unusual
shrinkage), seams (no visible damage) and metal parts (no deformation or oxidation) as well as to verify that the connectors are working properly
(opening/locking). Markings must be readable. If there is any doubt as to the condition of the device, or after a fall, it must not be reused (marking it
with the words "DO NOT USE" is recommended) and must be returned to the manufacturer or to a qualified person appointed by the manufacturer.
Before first use, record the date of first use, as well as the date of the next inspection.
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the lanyard.

SUITABILITY FOR USE:

The lanyard is for use with a fall arrest system as defined in the product data sheet (see standard EN363) to guarantee that the dynamic force exerted
on the user during the arrest of a fall is no greater than 6 kN. A fall arrest harness (EN361) is the only body-gripping device that may be used. It can be
dangerous to create one's own fall protection system in which each safety function can interfere with another safety function. Therefore, it is important
to read the recommendations on using each component in the system before use.
