DESCRIPTION
Radius, electromechanical activator designed for use in swinging doors of up to 3metres. It has a robust opening
spindle, electric motor, gears and condenser placed inside two injection moulded aluminium casings. It can be
stopped while opening because of a mechanical bumper in the spindle. Electric current via connector socket.
Reversible model for use with electro- lock and irreversible model with unlocking lever with safety key. With
irreversible actuators and doors of less than 2 metres it is not necessary to install an electro- lock.
Conditions of use
The radius actuator is designed and constructed for the installation of swinging doors by specialist technicians.
The actuator should not be used on installations different from the above mentioned ones.
The manufacturer is not responsible if the installer does not abide by the current guidelines.
Applicable regulations
The Radius actuator complies with the following European regulations: Directive 2006/95/CE Directive
2004/108/CE. Additionally, in the design and construction the following technical guidelines have been observed:
EN 292/1 & 2 Safety of machinery – Basic concepts, general principles for design. Safety of machines Part 1: Basic
terminology, methodology and Part 2: Technical principles and specifications. EN 60335-1:1994/AU:1996
Specification for safety of household and similar electrical appliances. CE marking of Radius only refers to the
actuator and not to the whole system ( actuator, shutter, frames, etc.)
compliance of the door-actuator assembly.
Avoiding Accidents During Installation
Connection of the actuator to the power supply should not be performed unless the installation operations
described below are finished. Connection of the actuator should only be done for the sense of rotation test and
stroke programming test. The sense of rotation and stroke programming tests should be performed with the
installer far from the dangerous area, keeping a safety distance from the fold zone of the door.
Installation specifications
Check that the door and door jambs are sufficiently robust and that in movement there is no rubbing, danger of
crushing or cutting. Check that there are no fixed structures nearby which could cause crushing. The actuator
should be installed so that specific tools are required for its removal. In the case of automatic doors which open in
the presence of someone, the handle of the switch should be installed near the door in such a position that it can
be clearly seen. Photocells or bands will be installed as required by the current regulations.
Avoiding Accidents During Maintenance
Maintenance must be carried out only after the actuator is put on safety mode. This is achieved opening the all-
pole switch on the start-up control and ensuring that it cannot be reset during the maintenance operation (closed
with key, signals, etc.)
Note for the user:
Maintenance or verification of the actutaor must be done by qualified staff.
CONTENTS
1 back support with screw, washer and safety nut / 1 front support with washer and safety nut / 1 connector (to be
plugged in) / 1 set of keys.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
The door should have opening and closing bumpers (Fig. 10) If the actuator has an opening bumper incorporated
(Fig.1 and 9) then the external installation is not necessary. The position of these bumpers should be such that they
do not go beyond the limits of the nut of the opening lever (Fig. 1).
