This procedure takes max. 4 minutes, during which each filter
cartridge is cleaned by max. 6 compressed air shots.
To secure optimum filter efficiency the filter cleaning
system cannot be activated during the first 20 hours
of operation or within 20 hours after filter
replacement.
5.3.5 Buzzer
The buzzer may emit two different interrupted sounds:
- 2 seconds on - 2 seconds off: clogged filter
- 2 seconds on - 5 seconds off: compressed air missing
When the pressure over the filter cartridges reaches 1500 Pa
during use, the buzzer will emit an interrupted sound (2 seconds
on - 2 seconds off). In this case proceed as follows.

After the fan has been switched off, the automatic filter cleaning
procedure will be activated (ref. 5.3.3).
Buzzer sound is suppressed during one hour enabling
the user to finish his job. If necessary/desired, buzzer
can be suppressed (repeatedly),provided that the
downdraft table is switched off at the end of the day.

5.3.6 Filter replacement

When the filter cleaning system is unable to get the pressure
below 1200 Pa after 5 attempts, the filter cartridges are
probably saturated and need to be replaced. This is indicated by
the buzzer emitting an interrupted sound (2 seconds on - 2
seconds off).

5.4
Filter replacement
5.4.1 Main filter cartridges
The spare filter cartridges are supplied in a plastic bag and come
with face mask and a pair of disposable gloves. It is
recommended to replace both filter cartridges at the same time.
ATTENTION!
Always wear face mask and gloves during filter
exchange/cleaning.
Clean spark arresters, dust drawers and filter
compartment using an industrial vacuum cleaner that
meets dust class H according to EN 60335-2-69.
Turn off the main switch.
Unpack the replacement filters and keep the plastic bags.
Open the right door.
WARNING!
Wait at least 60 seconds before open the door to allow
the dust in the filter compartment to settle.
Turn square key to the left to unlock the door.

Remove the used filter cartridges and pack them in the
plastic bags in which the new filters are supplied.
Seal the bags firmly with the supplied tie-wrap.

Clean the pre spark arresters and replace them.
Empty the dust drawers underneath the pre spark arresters
and the filter cartridges, preferably by using an industrial
vacuum cleaner. Put dust drawers back in place.
Remove the main spark arresters and clean them.
Clean the entire filter compartment, including the space left
resp. right of main spark arresters.
Replace the main spark arresters.
Place new filter cartridges.
Close the door.
Turn on the main switch.
Reset PLC (DraftMax Ultra only):
Push the

button (refer to Fig. 5.3C) and hold for 20

seconds until the buzzer emits a continuous sound.
Dispose of the used filter cartridges in accordance with state
or local regulations.

ATTENTION!
DraftMax Advance only:
Do not activate the filter cleaning system during the
first 20 operation hours after filter replacement.
5.4.2 HEPA filter (option)
The HEPA filter is supplied in a plastic bag and comes with face
mask and a pair of disposable gloves. It should be exchanged
together with the main filter cartridges.
ATTENTION!
Always wear face mask and gloves during filter
exchange.
Clean HEPA filter housing using an industrial vacuum
cleaner that meets dust class H according to
EN 60335-2-69.
Open the door of the HEPA kit.
Unlock the HEPA filter cartridge (refer to Fig. 4.5B).
Remove the used filter cartridge and pack it in the plastic
bag in which the new filter is supplied.
Clean filter housing, preferably by using an industrial
vacuum cleaner.
Place new HEPA filter cartridge.
Lock the filter cartridge by pulling the two straps tightly. This
is indicated by a click sound.
Close the door.
Dispose of the used HEPA filter in accordance with state or
local regulations.
