AFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not store the unit near a wash basin or bath tub as there is the danger that the unit may
fall or be pulled into the wash basin or the bath tub.
• If the supply cable of this unit is damaged, you must get it replaced from the manufacturer
or its service agent or similarly a qualified person to avoid hazards.
• UV radiation can cause damage to the eyes and skin and result in, for example, excess
ageing and even skin cancer in extreme cases. It is therefore strongly recommended that
protective glasses be worn. In individual cases, UV radiation can result in oversensitivity to
cosmetic products.
• The following persons should avoid being exposed to the radiation of a UV lamp:
- People who easily get sunburnt
- People with sunburn
- Children
- Pregnant women
- People with skin cancer or those who have a prominent history of skin cancer in the family.
• After 10 minutes of continual skin exposure, a 30-minute break is to be taken. UV lamps
should not be used more than 200 times per year.
• The minimum distance between the user and the UV lamp is 20mm.
• The product may not be used when the timer is damaged or has been removed.
• Like the sun, the UV radiation of the UV lamps may damage the skin or the eyes. This possible
damage is influenced by the quality and quantity of usage and the sensitivity of the user´s
skin and eyes.
• If the eyes are not protected, frequent use of the lamp can cause damage to the retina and
a cataract may develop. In several cases this has resulted in the recurrence of a cataract
that had been previously operated on.
• People who react sensitively to UV light, certain medications or cosmetic products should
be particularly protected when using the appliance or abstain from working with this
appliance altogether.
• Remove all cosmetic products from the skin, such as moisturizer and sunscreen, before use.
• You must consult a physician before use if you are taking medication that makes you more
sensitive to UV radiation (e.g., St John´s Wort).
• There must be a 48-hour long pause between 2 treatment sessions.
• Please consult a dermatologist immediately if skin irregularities (minor lumps), skin pain or
pigmentation changes such as moles arise.
