MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
.
(Figs. 2-4)
It is advisable to sign a yearly maintenance contract with your own
installer or a specialised company. This will ensure that the boiler
and installations are checked and cleaned regularly, and the burner
is properly regulated. This will ensure that everything works to your
satisfaction and as economically as possible.
The boiler, burner and stack should be cleaned at least once a year.
What to do:
. Clean the stack.
. Clean the boiler.
. Clean and check the burner, following the specific instructions
provided.
To clean the boiler, power off from the control panel, open the bur-
ner door (10) and the upper door (15). For boilers with 3 and 5 ele-
ments, remove the turbofans (27) from the smoke tubes.
Remove all deposits and layers of soot from the flue gas pipes and
the combustion chamber using a metal brush and suction device.
Alternatively, specific chemical products can be used provided that
the instructions on the pack are followed correctly.
After cleaning, place the doors back in position carefully, checking
the gaskets (14, 20) and insulating panels (12, 18).
Check the seal of the burner and upper door and replace the seals
(14, 20) if in doubt.
Recommendations:
Check the pressure of the water in the system regularly. The value
shown on the gauge must not be less than 1 bar when cold.
Long stops
Do not leave the boiler switched on when not in use for long periods.
Turn off the fuel supply and switch off the master power switch.
Disconnect the flue gas pipe, seal off the hole and place 100 g of
calcium carbonate in the combustion chamber to absorb humidity.
Malfunctions:
CAUTION! 1 - Always turn off the master switch before doing any-
thing to the boiler.
2 - If the safety thermostat (46) activates, check the boi-
ler is full of water, wait a few minutes and then press
the reset button.
3 - Check operation of the circulation pump and regula-
tion thermostat (44).
If the red safety light of the burner is on, it means there is a burner
malfunction. Wait a few minutes before resetting it. If nothing hap-
pens, call the installer or a specialized company.
Safety rules:
1 - Do not touch hot parts of the boiler such as doors, burner door
plates and flue gas pipes.
2 - Keep children well away from the boiler during operation.
3 - Do not allow water or other liquids to come into contact with the
boiler.
4 - Do not clean any parts of the boiler with highly flammable sub-
stances, such as petrol or alcohol.
5 - Cleaning must always be done with the boiler cold. Use a damp
sponge or cloth and a mild liquid detergent.
