Respect Fire!
Flammable liquids ignite easily and suddenly.
BE RESPONSIBLE! There are hazards associated with the use of this product. Know what they are!
Before going on a trip, read this manual in its entirety, practice using and cleaning your stove, and
inspect the O-rings and pump seal on your pump.
WARNING
TO AVOID INJURY, read, understand and follow all instructions and warnings
in this manual before using the stove.
Leaking fuel is a serious fire hazard and poses a risk of
property damage, personal injury and death.
Using your stove in an enclosed area is dangerous. Do not use your stove in a tent, car or house. MSR
recommends you use your stove outside, because fire and carbon monoxide poisoning can kill you.
Keep the fuel in your fuel bottle, by inspecting and replacing any worn or damaged O-rings and pump
seal each time you use the stove. Damaged or worn O-rings or pump seal may result in leaking fuel.
Double check for spilled or leaking fuel before lighting up your stove. If you find spilled fuel, move
to another area. If you find leaking fuel, your stove may be broken. Repair it or send it to your MSR
retailer or MSR Product Service Center for repairs. Always recheck for leaking fuel following any repairs
or maintenance. Note: When temperatures are below -24°C (-10°F), O-rings might get stiff and break,
resulting in leaking fuel.
Use only MSR fuel bottles. Non-MSR fuel bottles won't fit properly with MSR pumps, resulting in leak-
ing fuel.
Protect yourself! Never place your head or body above the stove when in use. Keep clothing and other
flammable things away from the stove, too.
Don't unlock the catch arm or disconnect the stove, pump or fuel bottle when the stove is lit or
near any ignition source. Leaking fuel will result.
Only light the stove when it's cool. Relighting a warm stove may cause a dangerous fireball.
Use small diameter cookware (9 in./23 cm or smaller). Cookware with a large diameter will cause the
stove and fuel bottle to overheat and leak fuel.
Always supervise children in the vicinity of stoves. Never allow them to use stoves or leave a burning/
hot stove unattended.
Only use the stove for cooking food and boiling water.
Don't disassemble beyond what is described in these instructions. Don't alter the stove in any way.
And don't use the stove if any parts are missing or broken.
You are about to use a highly flammable liquid to cook food.
Know how to use your stove!
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS
COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
