oil. Do not overfi ll.
1. Engine Oil
Before checking or refi lling engine oil, be sure the engine is located on a stable,
level surface and stopped.
• Do not screw the oil gauge into the oil fi ller neck to check oil level. If the oil level is
low, refi ll to the upper level with the following recommended oil.
• Use 4-stroke automotive detergent oil of API service class SE or higher grade.
• Select the viscosity based on the air temperature at the time of operation as shown in
the table.

2. Check Fuel
Do not refuel while smoking, near an open fl ame or other such potential fi re hazards.
NOTE: THE ENGINE IS CERTIFIED TO OPERATE ON AUTOMOTIVE UNLEADED
GASOLINE, WITH NO MORE THAN 10% ETHANOL (E10).

• Gasoline is extremely fl ammable and is explosive under certain conditions.
• Refuel in a well ventilated area with the engine stopped.
• Do not overfi ll the fuel tank (fuel volume should not exceed the bottom of the fuel level
gauge). After fi lling, make sure the tank cap is secure.
