35. A ssemblyoffloor-mountedbalustrade,ifapplicable(Fig.16)
Determine the position of the posts on the floor, on average one every 28 cm and at a distanza of 8 cm from
the edge.
Take care: for circular balustrades, use the circular handrail to determine the distance of the posts from
the edge of the floor aperture – this distance varies according to the radius of the circular handrail supplied.
Drill with a Ø 10 mm bit and insert the 046015 components, fixing them with chemical resin (not supplied).
Assemble components 033063 with components 009002 and 005001. Insert the 127014 balustrade
balusters ( H= 910 mm) into the 033063 components, with the 126034 reinforcing baluster about every
metre, and lock them with components 001004. Fix the balusters to the wall using component 033010 and
items 008004, 011053 and 033056 (drill with an Ø 8 mm bit). Determine the length of the handrails and
cut off the excess quantity. Assemble the 140053 or 140331 handrails to the balusters with the 002031
components using item 046011 for straight balustrades and items 001038 and 046059 for circular
balustrades. Assemble any 033103, 033105, 033107 connecting components and the 033103 terminal
components.
36. Insert the steel cables into the 034041 parts on the banisters, positioning parts 031098 and 001012 on
each end baluster of the banisters and also on one intermediate baluster positioned between the two ends
of the banister side. Fasten the cables at one of the two ends using parts 031098 and 001012, leaving
about 15mm protruding from parts 034041; cover with parts 034042 and 001011. Tighten the cables by
hand and lock parts 031098 and 001012 respectively working from the lower to the higher end of the steel
cable. Once the final parts 031098 and 001012 have been fastened, cover the ends of the cables with
adhesive tape to prevent them from unravelling whilst being cut. Cut the cables at a distance of 15 mm from
parts 034041. Remove the tape and cover with parts 034042 and 001011 (Fig. 1 - 6 - 7).
Final assembly
37. To further reinforce the staircase at intermediate points, fix components 033010 to wall and join to the
balusters, using components 033056. Drill with an 8 mm bit and use components 008004, 011053,
011057, 005035 (Fig. 12) (Fig. 13).
Assembly of 020 railing
38. Unlock component 005008 and fan out the 103012 - 103013 treads. It's now possible to ascend the
staircase.
39. Fit parts BE9 into holes on treads with edge facing upwards (Fig. 2).
40. Starting from the landing, insert the 127002 connecting balusters between the treads, inserting the BF3
component on each tread, with the hole in the screw facing in the direction of the ascent. If necessary, cut
the 127002 balusters from the lower end to obtain a handrail height of about 100 cm.
41. Position balusters with component 033147 with the part with hole upwards (Fig. 2) (Fig. 9). Tighten the
001013 components of the treads above and below paying attention to the riser (Fig. 2).
42. Carefully check that all balusters positioned are vertical. This is essential for successful final assembly of the
staircase.
43. Definitively tighten component 005008 (Fig. 9).
44. Fix component BF1 to floor in position of first baluster, drilling with an 8 mm bit. Use components 011053,
008004, and 001004 (Fig. 2).
45. Position the first baluster 127002; adjust height according to the balusters fitted earlier (Fig. 2). Insert the
046050 reinforcing component into the 1st baluster.
46. Prepare spiral handrails (p. 52).
47. Fit parts BF1 to treads, using fittings 002040, in an intermediate position, drilling with a Ø 4,5 mm bit.
Determine the height of the intermediate columns, measuring the distance from handrail to tread, deducting
5 mm for the thickness of component BF1, and cutting the balusters on the free side. Once cut, insert the
columns into the BF1 details, before fixing them to the handrail. Make sure they are vertical before tightening
them with component 001004 (Fig. 2) (Fig. 6) (Fig. 8).
48. Complete assembly of railing, fitting components 031065 into the lower part of balusters 127002 and
components 031075 into side of treads (Fig. 2).
Assembly of 020 balustrade
49. Screw component 033063 on to brace 046036 with the 011038 screws (Fig. 2). Cut the 121028 post at 90 cm,
assemble it with the 033149 fixing component and items 011063 and 005036, insert it into component
033063 and fix it with items 001004, positioning the 033149 tie according to the direction of the handrail.
50. Position components 033146 on landing, using components 002040 and 001004. Drill landing with a 4.5 mm
bit, keeping a distance between centres of no more than 12 cm.
