2.2. RESPONSABILITY
This manual is to be considered an integral part of the machine and must be kept until the end of its useful life.
The manufacturer cannot accept any liability arising from:
•
improper, incorrect or unreasonable use of the machine;
•
use not in line with current national laws;
•
incorrect installation of the machine;
•
power supply faults;
•
insufficient maintenance;
•
unauthorised alterations or interventions;
•
use of non-original replacement parts or products not specifically for the model;
•
failure to comply with the instructions in this manual.
2.3. GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
2.3.1. Machine operating
It strictly prohibited to remove or tamper with the safety devices on the machine.
Under no circumstances must sealed parts or organs be tampered with, as this could offer access to devices
that, once modified without authorisation, could create hazardous situations.
2.3.2. Machine during repairs or maintenance
Maintenance must only take place while the machine is idle and disconnected from the power supply.
If there is a need for technical assistance, River System srl recommends contacting its assistance service
directly; this will guarantee the use of original replacement parts and continued safe conditions during operation.
2.4. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The machine may only be used after it has been installed correctly. The installation site must be:
•
indoors and protected against the elements;
•
easily washable;
•
with flat, horizontal, solid flooring;
•
sufficiently lit to comply with current regulations;
•
able to drain off water and any other liquids used to clean the machine;
•
compatible with machine specifications as listed in the relevant table;
•
compliant with regulations and local by-laws concerning hygiene and safety in the workplace;
•
able to guarantee the necessary space around the machine, as stated in section 5.1;
•
equipped with a system to collect the water and feathers discharged from the plucking machine.
The power cables and water supply lines cannot in any way obstruct the operator or be able to be accidentally
cut or damaged.
Make sure that the power socket used to supply the machine can never be subject to possible splashes or jets of water.
2.5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The machine is intended for professional use only and therefore, all use and maintenance must only be carried
out by suitably trained persons who have read and understood the contents of this manual. The use of the
machine by unqualified or insufficiently trained persons can lead to damage and accidents.
Machine operators must be:
•
legal adults and in any case not under 18 years of age;
•
in possession of all physical and mental faculties;
•
trained in the operation of the machine and able to recognise the different operating modes;
•
trained in the emergency procedures and implementation of same;
•
deemed fit by their employer to perform the tasks assigned;
•
an inexperienced operator must be kept under the continuous, uninterrupted supervision of a qualified,
expert operator, who will carry out the task of trainer.
2.6. RISK ELIMINATION
To guarantee operator safety, two risk elimination devices have been installed on the machine:
•
drain cover, consisting of a metal sheet that, once in position, creates a labyrinth to prevent all access to
the moving parts in the drain opening (photo A);
lid opening microswitch (only for Cylindra model) : located on the lid to stop the machine once the lid is

opened (photo B).
