InPro 6000 Aperometric O
1
Introduction
Thank you for buying this amperometric oxygen sensor from
METTLER TOLEDO. The InPro 6000 (i) series amperometric
O
sensors are intended solely for in-line measurement
2
of the oxygen partial pressure e.g., oxygen measurement
in liquids.
Application examples are (but not limited to), fermentation
in biotechnology, oxygen measurement in brewing and
chemical applications.
The following sensor types are covered within this quick
set-up guide.
InPro 6800 / InPro 6850 i / InPro 6900 / InPro 6900 i /
InPro 6950 / InPro 6950 i / easySense.
Sensors without 'i' are analog sensors and with 'i' are digital
sensors incorporating Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM).
EasySense is digital sensor without ISM. ISM functionality
offer Plug and Measure as well as enhanced diagnostics
features.

Safety instructions
h
Notice: Before every start-up, the sensor must be checked
for:
– Damage to the connections, fastenings, etc.
– Leakage
– Perfect functioning
– A uthorization for use in conjunction with other plant
equipment and resources.
h
Notice: The manufacturer / supplier accepts no responsibility
for any damage caused by unauthorized attachments
or for the incorporation of spare parts which are not of
METTLER TOLEDO provenance. The risk is borne entirely by
the operator.
a
Caution: Before the sensor is put into operation, the
operator must have already clarified that use of the sensor
in conjunction with the other associated equipment and
resources is fully authorized.
a
Caution: A defective sensor may neither be installed nor
put into operation. Faulty containment or installation out of
conformance with regulations and instructions can lead to
the escape of medium or to pressure surges (explosion),
potentially harmful both to persons and to the environment.
a
Caution: The sensor is not equipped with heat protection.
During steam-sterilization procedures in pipes, the surface
of the sensor can reach high temperatures and cause burns.
a
Caution: Some components inside the sensor are energized
with voltages which can cause lethal shocks in case of
contact. The instrument needs to be switched to zero
potential before any operation on the wiring terminal.
a
Warning: Before dismantling the sensor or commencing any
maintenance work on it, ensure that the equipment in which
the sensor is installed is in a safe condition (pressurize,
no explosion risk, empty, rinse, vent, etc.).

Product description
h
Notice: Digital sensors (ISM): All sensors ending with an 'i'
are delivered dry and must be filled with electrolyte before
start-up. Electrolyte has to be ordered separately.
Analog sensors are delivered filled with electrolyte, however,
it is advised to replace the electrolyte reservoir with fresh
solution.
