Troax Safe Lock.
Please follow these instructions to ensure the correct operation of your new Safe Lock. The Safe Lock shall always be installed
according to the assembly instructions and assembled on a Troax machine guarding system.
Before reading please fold out the page with the illustrations.
Installation
The Safe Lock is delivered with a separate assembly instruction.
For installation information of safety switches
connection between the switches and the overall safety system,
see the included documentation from the safety switch
manufacturer.

After installation

When the installation is complete, and before first use,
do the following:
1.
Check that all parts are assembled correctly.
2.
Check that all screws are tightened. Especially that
the screw in the end of the escape release handle
is tightened.
3.
Check that the escape release handle on the back of
the Safe Lock unlocks the Safe Lock.

4.
Check that the actuator

CAUTION! The safety switch is not supposed to be used as a
mechanical stop. Always follow the instructions from the safety
switch manufacturer.
To prevent the Safe Lock from being defeated, the lock must
be secured with a blind rivet

screws with pins).
Operation
Locking
1.
Close the door.
2.
Unlock and remove the padlock, if one is fitted.
3.
Slide the knob
sideways to lock the Safe Lock.
NOTE! The Safe Lock must not be locked from the inside.
Unlocking
1.
Stop the machine / request access to release the
actuator
from the switch.
2.
Slide the knob
sideways to unlock the Safe Lock.

Escape
Safe Lock without guard locking
1.
Press the red escape release handle
to unlock the Safe Lock.
2.
Open the door.

Push the escape release button.
2.
Press the red escape release handle
to unlock the Safe Lock.
3.
Open the door.
Blocking for machine maintenance
To work safely inside the machine guarding, block the Safe
Lock with a padlock
being closed and locked by someone else. There can be up
to three different persons inside the machine guarding at the
same time. Each person shall use their own padlock.
NOTE! The padlock is not included.
Maintenance
Every third month depending on the environment of the
installation:
Cleaning with a damp cloth, if necessary use a mild
detergent.
For installations that are subject to vibrations, all bolts
and fixings in the system shall be retightened.
Damage to the paint should be covered with paint to
prevent corrosion developing.
Check weekly that the escape release handle
of the Safe Lock unlocks the Safe Lock.
The Safe Lock is protected against corrosion fulfilling classi-
fication C2; internal non-isolated buildings with temporary
water condensation e.g. warehouses.
Recycling
The Safe Lock can be recycled as scrap metal. The safety switch
is recycled according to the switch manufacturers instructions.
Warranty
The Safe Lock is covered by Troax 2-year product warranty.
The safety switch is covered by the warranty terms of the
supplier, and are often covered by a 1-year warranty.
