39. See steps 1-10 regarding removing the pump from
service.
40. In order to access the lower u-cup (66), remove pressure
cylinder (68). Place a wrench across the flats at the base
of the cylinder and unscrew the cylinder from the fluid
outlet junction (56).
41. Inspect the lower u-cup (66) and lower seal retainer.
Replace if worn or damaged.
42. Inspect the pump tube o-ring and the lower pump tube
seal. Replace if required.
43. The lower ball (71) and its related items may be
inspected at this time.
44. Remove the lower seat retainer (73) from the pressure
cylinder. The lower seat retainer contains the lower seat.
Inspect the seat for wear. Replace the lower seat retainer
if the seat is damaged or worn.
45. Remove and inspect the lower ball cage (69), including
the lower ball cage pin (70). Also remove and inspect
the lower ball (71) and fluid seat gasket (72). Replace
any damaged or worn items.
46. Additionally, inspect the fluid tube gasket (74) and
replace if required.
47. To access the upper u-cup and seals, Use a spanner or
pipe wrench to remove the upper fluid seal housing.
48. Push out the upper fluid seal retainer (49).
49. Inspect the upper cartridge o-ring (48), the seal retainer
(49), upper rod wiper o-ring (50), upper u-cup rod seal
(51), and upper u-cup cartridge seal (52). Replace any
worn or damaged items.
50. Remove the pump rod (58). Inspect the pump rod. If
rod is scored, it should be replaced.
51. To inspect the upper ball and seat, remove the pump rod
seat retainer (63) using an 8 mm hex key. Inspect the
upper ball (61), cage (59), gasket (60) and seat (62) for
wear. Replace any worn or damaged items.

52. Slide pump rod (58) into fluid outlet junction (56).
53. Install the upper u-cup cartridge seal (52) into the fluid
outlet junction.
54. Carefully install the upper u-cup rod seal (51) over the
end of the rod. The open end of the u-cup rod seal
should face towards the pressurized area of the pump.
55. Be sure that the upper rod wiper o-ring (50) is installed
in the upper fluid seal retainer (49). Install the upper
fluid seal retainer (containing the o-ring) over the rod
and slide it down on top of the upper u-cup rod seal (51).
