ATTENTION! When working, the metal parts of the fireplace may reach high
temperatures. Protect your hands with a fireproof glove when touching the said parts.
IMPORTANT! The heater must be closed at all times during combustion to prevent smoke
from leaking out. Only open to add fuel.
Before lighting the stove, ensure you understand how it works.
Your E-10 heater has not been designed to operate with an intermittent combustion
system.
Although your heater is easy to use, the combustion process of wood may be complicated,
as it involves several factors and it takes time and experience to understand the process.
The primary air inlet that provides airflow below the level of the fuel bed is controlled by
opening or closing the ash pan cover. The more you separate the ash pan cover from the
front section, the greater the amount of airflow fuelling the combustion process.
The secondary air inlet that provides airflow above the fire bed is located between the top of
the door and the front section, above the rear window. This air is sucked into the combustion
chamber, through the chimney draw effect. This leads to a secondary combustion process
that can significantly increase fuel efficiency, reducing the emission of particles into the
atmosphere and preventing the accumulation of dirt on the glass pane. This air supply is
constant.
In order to achieve a smouldering fire, close the ash pan cover once the fire has stabilised.
A. – BREAK IN FIRE
It is extremely important for the stove to be broken in slowly for the following reasons:
a) To stabilize the cast iron parts.
b) To harden the cement that seals the gaskets.
Recommendations:
- We recommend that the first loads are small.
- For the flue to begin to work, heat the chimney by introducing a lit paper into the existing
gap between the front and the baffle, pointing it towards the chimney.
- Whilst breaking in the stove, keep the room where the stove is located ventilated as paint
vapours may be emitted.
- Keep the stove lit for several hours in this type of operation.
- IMPORTANT¡ The total height of the fire load should not exceed 50% of the height of the
combustion chamber.
- The heater must be closed at all times during combustion to prevent smoke from
leaking out. Only open to add fuel.
B. – DAILY USE
a.- General Guide
Your stove is ready for daily use after being broken in.
The heating requirements of your home will be what determine the frequency with which you
have to load wood.
Whenever your stove is cold, it is advisable to light it slowly.
