WLAN information
The following factors could improve range or connection quality:
1. The installation location of the WLAN network video recorder
Changing where the WLAN network video recorder is installed can help to improve the
connection quality:
a)
Position the WLAN network video recorder in such a way that there are as few obstacles
(e.g. walls, doors or other devices) as possible between it and the camera(s). Do not
position the WLAN network video recorder in the immediate vicinity of metallic surfaces.
b)
As far as is possible, the WLAN network video recorder should be freestanding, i.e., not
directly under or behind an obstacle. You may wish to move the WLAN video recorder to
a higher position.
2. The wireless router in your home network
Connect the WLAN network video recorder to your home network, following the first
installation instructions set out below (see step XX). If the connection quality of your
camera(s) and the WLAN network video recorder is insufficient in your desired installati-
on location, you also have the option to connect the camera(s) to the wireless router in
your home. To do so, please follow the relevant steps below (see step XX).
3. WLAN repeater
By serving to increase the signal strength within a network, repeaters enable the range
of a WLAN network to be extended. The wireless signal transmitted by the WLAN network
video recorder is boosted, allowing it to reach more distant cameras/other connected
WLAN devices.
The repeater should be installed in an area where the WLAN signal is weak. Often, this is
close to the camera(s)/other connected WLAN devices in question.
