way:
- Cover the exit in the roof.
- Introduce damp paper and straw inside the chimney and
light them.

It is extremely important that the chimney
is one metre higher than the highest part of
the house. If the flue needs to be
increased, the height of the chimney should
be raised.

CORRECTO
Clean the chimney at least once a year.
The chimney pipe connections, in the case
of simple metal pipes, should be sealed
with heat-resistant putty.
The female part of the pipes should always be directed
upwards, to prevent any creosote which may build up
from escapes to the exterior.
External metal chimneys should be built with
double fireproof pipes, especially for solid fuels.
2.2.5 Installation in Existing Fireplaces.
When using existing fireplaces, it is recommendable to
place one or two metres of metal pipe inside the chimney,
ensuring that the opening between the masonry chimney
and the pipes is sealed (see previous Figure).
In the event of the fireplace catching fire (an excessive
accumulation of creosote can catch fire), close all of the
appliance's air inlets (primary and secondary), as well as
the air inlets to the room where the appliance is installed.
This will make the flames go out by themselves.

IMPORTANT
Under no circumstances should the full weight of the
chimney be loaded on the Compact. This may cause it to
break.
