2) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Do not install the unit without first having read the instructions for the unit and actuators!
Before you actually start installation, check the sturdiness and mechanical consistency of the gate and the observance of safety
margins and minimum distances. Follow exactly all the indications given in the gearmotor instruction manuals.
Once you have carefully analysed the risks involved with the automation, evaluate with particular care, the safety devices
to be installed and always install an emergency stop device, in other words, a category 0 stop device.
Remember there are specific standards to be strictly followed regarding the safety of electrical installations and automatic gates!
Besides these standards, that refer to electrical installations in general, machine systems and automatic doors and gates, here
are some of our own, specific notes for this unit that will make the whole system even more safe and reliable:
•
The power line leading to the unit must always be protected by a magnetothermic switch or by a couple of 5A fuses, a differential
switch is recommended but not essential if there is already one before the system.
•
Power the unit using a 3 x 1.5 mm
exceed 30 metres, an earth plate must be installed near the unit.
•
If the motors have no cable, use a 4 x 1.5 mm
3 metres in length.
•
It is absolutely forbidden to connect cables in buried boxes even if they are completely watertight.
•
For the connections of the low voltage safety part (terminals 12...30) use wires with a minimum cross section of 0.25 mm
electric lock only, use a wire of at least 1 mm
on the unit side.
•
Always and only use cables (various wires insulated individually plus an additional general insulation) and never single wires even
if they are protected inside ducts.
Make sure you have all the necessary materials and that they are suitable for this use.
2.1) INSTALLATION:
Install the actuators following carefully all the instructions given in the relative instruction manuals that should be enclosed with
the motors. Should you find any clashes between the actuator instructions and this manual, do not install before all doubts have
been cleared up by contacting the actuator supplier or our TECHNICAL OFFICE.
A correct choice in the installation of the unit is essential to guarantee an adequate level of safety and good protection against
atmospheric agents. Remember that the unit contains live parts and electronic components that are, in themselves, of a
particularly delicate nature.
The unit is supplied in a container which, if appropriately installed, will guarantee a protection level of IP55 (in compliance with CEI
70-1 and IEC 529) which means it is suitable for outdoor installation too.
However, several simple but important rules must be followed:
•
Install the unit on a permanent surface that is perfectly flat and adequately protected against knocks.
•
Secure the unit's container with suitable means so that the bottom of it is at least 40 cm from the ground.
For securing the container please refer to the instructions given at the end of this manual
•
Install cable or pipe leads only at the bottom of the unit; for no reason whatsoever must the side and top walls be perforated. The
cables must only enter the unit from the bottom!
If pipes are used that could fill with water or if they lead from a buried pit, it will be necessary to make the pipes pass through a
first junction box positioned at the same height as the unit and from this junction box, always from the bottom, into the unit's
containers. This will prevent any evaporation of water inside the pipes from forming condensation inside the unit.
