Tool change with keyless chuck
Use the keyless chuck when non-impact drilling in
metal, wood etc. and driving screws.
Chucking the tool:
Turn sleeve towards UP, OPEN" (a). Insert tool as
deeply as possible (b) and turn sleeve in the
opposite direction, until the noticeable mechanical
resistance is overcome. Caution! The tool is not
yet clamped!
Keep turning the sleeve (it must "click" when
turning) until it cannot be turned any further - only
now is the tool securely clamped.
With a soft tool shank, retightening may be
required after a short time of drilling.
Removing the tool:
Turn sleeve towards UP, OPEN" and remove the
tool (4).
Note: The ratchet sound which can possibly be
heard after opening the drill chuck, is functional
and is switched off by a reverse rotation of the
sleeve.
If the chuck is extremely tightened:
Unplug. Hold drill chuck with an open end spanner
at the flats on its head and turn the sleeve (4) hard
towards "AUF, RELEASE".

9 Tips and Tricks
Only moderate pressure is required for hammer
drilling and chiselling. Exerting a high force does
not increase performance.
When drilling deep holes, remove the drill bit
periodically from the hole to release the stone
dust.
Drill tiles and other brittle materials without impact.
10 Maintenance
Keyless chuck cleaning:
After prolonged use hold the chuck vertically, with
the opening down, and fully open and close it
several times. The dust collected falls from the
opening. The application of cleaning spray to the
jaws and jaw openings at regular intervals is
recommended.
The vent slots of the machine should be cleaned
from time to time.
11 Trouble Shooting
If the trigger (12) can not be depressed, check to
see that the direction of rotation selector switch
(10) is fully set to the R or L position.

electronics
Rapid flashing - restart protection
(UHE 26 Multi, UHE 28 Multi)
When power is restored after a power supply
failure, for reasons of safety the still switched-on
machine will not start. To continue operation
switch the machine off, then on again.
Slow flashing - carbon brushes worn
(UHE 26 Multi, UHE 28 Multi)
The carbon brushes are almost completely worn.
If the brushes are completely worn, the machine
switches off automatically. Have the brushes
replaced by an authorized service centre.
LED on permanently - overload (UHE 28 Multi)
The motor temperature is too high. Relieve the
machine of the overload condition. If the overload
condition continues, the machine will stop. Switch
the machine off and on again, then let it cool down
at no-load running.
