Application
The door controller TCIP 603-... is
used to control and manage a
large-scale access control system.
The following Vario modules can be
connected:
• Code lock module COM 611-...
• Electronic key module ELM 611-...
• Fingerprint module FPM 611-...
The modules are connected using
the Siedle Vario bus (terminals
Da/Db). Up to eight modules can
be operated in each case at the
TCIP 603-... .
(This means that 1 entrance door
can be made up of COM 611-...,
FPM 611-... and ELM 611-... ).
Maximum configuration of
TCIP 603-...
• 8 doors with 8 COM/ELM/FPM
units each
• 500 users
• 40 access groups
• 20 time profiles
• 40 days vacation/public holidays
• 5 potential-free inputs
• 4 potential-free outputs as
changeover contacts
The number of inputs and outputs
can be increased with the control
and remote switching module
FSM 740-.../SCE 640-... In this case,
up to 10 additional outputs and
3 additional inputs are possible.
Functional characteristics
An access control system ensures
that only authorized persons are
permitted to enter certain areas. As
a further restriction within the access
entitlement system, a time model is
available which determines when a
certain person is permitted access to
the relevant sector of the building.
A door station can comprise an
input module or a combination
of different input modules. The
controller TCIP 603-... switches a
relay in response to a valid input
which can then control for instance
a door release, a rotating door or a
turnstile.
By networking several input
modules, it is possible to create
highly complex overall systems
whose clearly arranged user
interface makes them easy to
configure and operate. The
TCIP 603-... can be integrated into
an existing network.
The TCIP 603-... can be configured
via any PC connected to the network
PC . No special software is required.
Programming takes place via the
Internet browser.
Electrical voltage
Mounting, installation and
servicing work on electrical
devices may only be performed
by a suitably qualified electrician.
Failure to observe this regulation
could result in the risk of serious
damage to health or fatal injury
due to electric shocks.
• In order to comply with the
general safety regulations applying
to VDE 0100 and VDE 0800 and to
prevent interference, steps must be
taken to ensure separate routing of
heavy and light current conductors.
• Declaration of conformity
We, S. Siedle & Söhne, hereby
declare that these devices comply
with the underlying requirements
and other relevant stipulations of
Directive 1999/5/U.The Declaration
of Conformity can be found on
www.siedle.de in the download area
or can be requested from Siedle.
Scope of supply
TCIP 603-... comprising:
• TCIP 603-... door controller in an
8-grid housing for top hat mounting
• Back-up battery used type Varta
CR 3032
• Terminals
• CD with backup software, manual
in the form of a PDF document and
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7
• This product information
System requirements
• PC with Intel Pentium III from
1 GHz or comparable processor
• at least 256 MB RAM
• Internet Explorer or compatible
browser
• VGA graphic card with at least
1024x768 Pixel
• Operating system
Windows 2000/XP
Mounting
1 Insert the provided terminals in the
jacks at the TCIP 603-... marked in
grey. Jacks without inscription are
not assigned a terminal
2 Clip the controller TCIP 603-...
onto the top hat rail. For this, the
TCIP 603-... must be suspended in
the rail and the two spring-mounted
plates pulled out until the housing
clips into place.
The installation site must be dry and
free of dust. The ventilation slots
must remain unobstructed to ensure
that heat generated inside the unit is
able to dissipate.
3 There is a back-up battery
mounted in the access control
system which retains the data in
case of a power failure or when
disconnecting from the mains. As a
protection against discharge during
storage, the supply through the
back-up battery is separated with
the aid of an isolating plate. This
plate must be removed when the
TCIP 603-... is operational. (Please
keep the plate in a safe place). If the
plate is replaced in the controller
at a later date, the contact to the
battery is interrupted. If there is an
interruption to the power supply all
the data will be lost. The operating
system of the controller is then reset
to its as-delivered status.
4 In order to link the TCIP 603-... to
an Ethernet network, connect the
RJ-45 network cable and connect it
on the other side to the network.
5 The simplest connection between
TCIP 603-... and the configuration
and operating PC is using a cross-
over cable).
