OBSERVATION
1) Before starting the test, wash the stone carefully. Oil and dirt dull the sensitivity of the Diamond Selector II
2) All the tests must be done by your bare hands. If your hands are very dry or you put on gloves, the Metal Alert will not function since a
normal moisture level of your hands is necessary for operation.
3) Hold the Diamond Selector II so that your fingers touch the Electricity Conductive Panel "7" on the back of the unit.
4) In case of stones set in metal (rings, pendants, bracelets, watches, etc.) hold the metal part of the stone with your bare hand.
5) In case of loose stones, place the stone on the Testing Platform "9", then hold the Diamond Selector II in one hand and the Platform with
your other hand.
6) When testing a lot of stones continuously, be sure to check occasionally that both certain segments of the Level Meter display and the
battery Lamp "4" are lit up.
7) If you hold the ring with your bare hand for a long time in order to test a lot of meleed stones (very small size stones) set in it, the ring is
warmed up to your body temperature which may dull the sensitivity of the Diamond Selector II, and sometimes set the ring apart until it
drops to its normal temperature.
8) Avoid use in front of cooling/heating fan, or direct strong wind as they may affect the reading.
9) In case of testing a stone which has been kept in extremely low or high temperature, start the test after returning to its normal
temperature.
MAINTENANCE
1) After using your Diamond Selector II, turn switch "3" on OFF and place it back in its pouch to protect it from humidity and dust.
2) Since the Diamond Selector II is constructed with precise electronic components, never attempt to open anything except the lid of the
battery compartment "6". Note: only those Diamond Selector II units which are undamaged, have not been open and bear the AF
Switzerland label, will eventually be replaced by AF SWITZERLAND S.A., Switzerland.
3) In case of not using the Diamond Selector II for a long time, take out the battery from the unit since the battery may sometimes corrode.
