7. The appliance should not be used for any purpose other than its intended purpose. The
use of accessories or parts not recommended by the manufacturer can lead to hazard-
ous situations and a loss of warranty.
8. Do not operate the appliance in frost or store it in a place with a risk of frost.
9. If the power cable of the device is damaged, avoid hazards by having it replaced by the
manufacturer or its customer service or a person of similar qualification.
10. Prior to first-time operation, make sure the appliance has been installed safely.
11. If an extension cable is used, make sure that the cable diameter is correct. The cable
may overheat if the diameter is too small. The cable should be laid such that no one can
trip over it or unintentionally disconnect it from the power supply.
12. Switch off the appliance when there is no water flowing through it.
13. The appliance should only be used for an aquarium or garden pond.
14. Before working on the appliance or in the aquarium or pond, all electrical appliances
must be disconnected from the power supply.
15. Never install the appliance above the water surface for operation in an aquarium.
16. WARNING: Do not operate the UV-C emitter when it is outside the appliance enclosure!

18. Unintended use of the appliance or damage to the casing may cause dangerous UV-C
radiation to escape. UV-C radiation may cause harm to the eyes and skin, even in small
doses.
19. Appliances that are obviously damaged may not be operated.

21. The appliance must be disconnected from the mains supply before replacing the UV-C
emitters.
22. WARNING: Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before carrying out main-
tenance.
23. Keep the appliance on level floor.
24. The appliance is suited for indoor and outdoor use.
25. Avoid electric shock by never immersing the appliance, mains plug or mains cable in
water or any other liquid.
26. The appliance must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) with a rated
tripping current not exceeding 30 mA.
27. The appliance may not be used when there are people in the water (e.g. in swimming
ponds).
28. The appliance must be fastened securely prior to use.
