Maintenance and care

Build-up of dirt, limescale, etc. inside the casing prevents optimal functioning of the UV-C
Water Clarifier. Therefore, the inside of the appliance should be cleaned twice a year (or more
frequently if efficiency deteriorates noticeably). The UV-C bulbs should be replaced once a
year at the beginning of spring (for operation in garden ponds) or after max. 6-8000 hours of
operation.
For all maintenance work requiring the appliance to be opened, consult a qualified per-
son who is familiar with the hazards of unintentionally released UV-C radiation. (See
the separate instruction "for the specialist")
Cleaning the covers of the bulb inspection windows
Before working on the appliance or in the aquarium/pond, all electrical appliances
must be disconnected from the mains/power supply. When doing so, never pull the
plug from the plug socket by the cable, and, instead, always hold the plug and then
pull it out.
Unscrew the covers of the inspection windows covers for checking fluorescent bulb function
(16) by turning counter-clockwise. Do not use any tools.
Clean the covers with water and a microfibre cloth (JBL WishWash). Do not use any aggres-
sive cleansing agents.
Check to make sure the O-rings (23) are intact and fit properly before screwing the covers on
again. Lubricate the O-rings with some Vaseline if necessary.
