7 Operation
6.2.1 Compressed air as plasma and cooling gas
• Precisely setting the compressed air pressure and volume is important for the pilot arc
ignition, cut quality and service life of the torch and wear parts.
• A pressure (p) lower than that specified for the operating pressure in Tab. 2 results in
thermal overload. The correct torch pressure must be ensured by properly setting the
pressure monitor on the power source.

6.2.2 Filtered compressed air free of oil and water
Only use compressed air which is free from dirt, oil and water.
We recommend:
• Initial filter with a 5 µm pore size
• Sub-micro filter with a 0.01 µm pore size
• 99.99% oil separation rate
• Air throughput for:
• ABICUT 25K: min. 2.5 bar: > 40 l/min
• ABICUT 45: min. 5.5 bar: > 150 l/min
• ABICUT 75: min. 6.0 bar: > 170 l/min
