Pre-fitting top/bottom grids (fig. 12)
Top/bottom grid components
1 pcs Top/bottom grid
1 pcs
Grid holder, left
1 pcs
Grid holder, right
4 pcs Flange bolt, M6x25mm
4 pcs Square nut, M6
4 pcs Plate screws, countersunk, 4.8x19mm
1.
Remove the ash retainer, baffle plate, base plate and burn
plate from the cassette if this hasn't already been done.
2.
Measure how many grid ribs are to be under the front of
the cassette. The height from the base of the hearth to
underneath the frame should normally be adjusted to
between 40 and 80mm (see fig. 1).
3.
Cut the grid to the correct height using an angle-grinder.
Important Remember to cut the grid on the opposite side
to the two fixing holes in the corners (fig. 12) that are used
for fitting the grid. There are 10mm spaces between the ribs
and each rib is 10mm high.
4.
With heights from:
40-55mm - use two ribs
55-75mm - use three ribs
over 75mm - use four ribs
5. If necessary, at the top of the front, cut as many ribs as
necessary from the top of the grid in order for the grid to
fit under the hearth's hood. There must be at least two ribs
(35mm space) on the top of the front in order to attach the
grid to the grid holder. If there is not enough space a top grid
cannot be fitted. If the 35mm space is too big the legs can
be lengthened in order to reduce the space or shortened in
order to allow space for two ribs at the top.
If side grids are to be fitted go to section: «Pre-fitting side grids»
before proceeding with fitting top and bottom grids.
Pre-fitting side grids (fig. 11 and 12)
Side grid components
1 pcs
Side grid
2 pcs Hinges
1 pcs
Joining pieces
1 pcs
Side grid lock
4 pcs Flange nuts, M6
4 pcs Pan head screws, M6x8
4 pcs Flange bolts, M6x10mm
1 pcs
Washers Ø6.4xØ12.5x1.6
1.
Cut the top of the side grid to the correct height. The small
nipple of the back of the grid shall be on the lower section
(fig. 11A).
2.
Fix the two hinges to the grid holders (fig. 11B). Use four pan
head screws C on the outside (where the labels are) and the
nuts on the inside. Do not tighten the screws. The longest
protrusion on the grid holder should point downwards
(fig. 12A).
3.
Attach the side grid to the hinges using two flange bolts
(M6x10mm) (fig. 11D). Select the uppermost hole in the hinge
if there are to be two ribs under the front of the cassette.
4.
Select the middle hole if there are three ribs and the bottom
hole if there are four ribs. Finally, tighten all the screws in
the hinge.
5.
If the side grids are to be joined with another, use two joining
pieces with flange bolts fig. 11E.
6.
On the outermost grid mount the side grid lock
(fig. 11F). This is attached with a flange bolt, M6x10mm, and
a washer. Note that the tags on the lock are to be turned
inwards towards the middle of the grid (fig. 11G). Do not
tighten the bolt so much that it does not allow the lock to
be slid up and down.
Attach all the side grids before fitting the top/bottom grids.
Fitting grids (fig. 10, 11, 13 and 14)
1.
Slide the square nuts (fig. 11H) in towards the centre of the
longitudinal slot in the grid holder.
2.
Use the four flange bolts (M6x20mm) to fasten the grid
holders (or with side grids) to the sides of the cassette. The
bolt should be screwed from inside the burn chamber (fig. 10
A and fig. 11H) - through the hole in the side of the cassette
and in to the square nut. Do not over tighten. The grid holder
should be free to move backwards and forwards.
3.
Pull the grid holder forwards. Maintain pressure towards the
front while tightening the bolts from inside.
4.
If necessary twist the side grids to the correct position and
press the lock down to the base of the hearth with a screw
driver from the outer side of the grids as shown in fig. 13.
5.
Mark the point where the lock hits the base of the hearth
with a pencil. Twist the side grids back slightly.
6.
At the pencil mark, drill a Ø8-10mm hole 10mm deep. If
necessary loosen the screws in the grid holders so that the
side grids can be slid into the hearth so as to allow easier
access for the drill.
7.
Move the side grids back to the correct position and slide the
gride lock down in the hole.
8.
Secure the bottom grid with two plate screws (4,8x19mm)
(fig. 14).
9.
If a top grid is fitted fasten it in position with two plate
screws.
