cated by the acronym "[ERR]" appearing on the display you will need to transfer the SIM into a standard

This menu allows you to force the modem to restart. When you press the

present and switched on.
ACTIVATING CHANNELS VIA SMS
This function allows you to activate receiver channels, in all the available combinations and receive chan-
nel status messages by sending SMS, messages.
The SMS messages can be sent from any device but will only be accepted if the devices transmit a valid
Remote Activation Code (CAR) which corresponds to the receiver to which the message is being sent.
The CAR is a number that can be modified at will from within the series 0-4'294'967'294, which makes
up the password for the receiver to accept this particular function. Modifying the CAR code initially set
to '0' by default, can also be carried out via SMS but only if the senders number is in the SIM telephone
address book.
To use commands via SMS you must have the CAR code as well as the telephone number of the SIM.
You are advised to set a personalised CAR code as soon as possible.
The receiver executes the operation immediately. The time that passes between sending the request
and the answer from the receiver depends on the telephone network.
The SMS must respect the following format:
- Messages without the correct format will be ignored.
- No distinction is made between upper case and lower case letters.
- The message must include the CAR code immediately preceded by the hash symbol #.
- The new code to be given to the CAR must be preceded by the asterisk symbol *.
- The channels are specified within the message using the identification letters: A, B, C, D.
- The channels can be omitted if you only want to obtain the status of the receiver.
- In certain cases, you want an answer, you will have to insert the letter 'R' into the message.
The following is a series of message examples:
"#123456abd"
"#123456abdr"
"#123456*654321abd" changes the CAR code from 123456 to 654321; commands for the channels: A, B, D;
"#123456r"
An answer is obligatory in the following cases:
- Changing the CAR code : confirms the outcome of the request.
- CAR ERROR: informs that the request cannot be accepted because the CAR code in the receiver is corrupt.
Attention! If the CAR code is corrupt you may attempt to reset it by using an appliance that is already
registered in the receiver's address book and sending a specific command to reset the CAR code to the
factory defaults.
This is a special command only available in Error cases. Send an SMS with the string #0*0 and wait
for a reply. If the outcome is positive the CAR code will be reset to the factory DEFAULT. Now the CAR
code has a value of '0', which may be changed at will, and all the functions that can be activated via
SMS have been reset.
