Risk of fire due to connection of the power supply unit to the AC connection of the
inverter
The AC connection of the inverter can not be used for the supply of the power supply unit for the
Rooftop Communication Kit. The sole purpose of the AC connection is to feed the alternating
current generated by the inverter into the utility grid. By additionally connecting the power supply
unit, a fire may occur.
• Carry out the electricity supply of the power supply unit with a separate line which is
protected by a circuit breaker.
• The AC connection of the inverter must not be used for the electricity supply of the power
supply unit for the Rooftop Communication Kit.
• Do not connect the power supply unit to the terminal block for the AC connection AC-out of
the inverter.
Procedure:
1. Lead the conductors through the conduits of the AC output of the inverter or, if necessary,
install an additional conduit to an enclosure opening.
2. Guide the conductors from the conduit into the inverter.
3. Strip off the conductor insulation by 7 mm (0.28 in).
4. In the case of fine stranded wire, provide the conductors with a bootlace ferrule.
5.
Danger to life due to electric shock by touching uninsulated conductors
The conductors of the power supply unit and the AC conductors of the inverter have to be
insulated using a insulating hose.
• Shorten the insulating hose to the necessary length. Set aside the rest of the insulating
hose. It will be used for the AC conductors of the inverter.
• Place the insulating hose over the conductors.
6. Connect the conductors to the terminal points L
and N at the input of the power supply unit and
tighten the screws using a screwdriver. When
doing so, ensure that the the conductors are not
connected to the incorrect polarity.
7. Install a circuit breaker or an overcurrent protective device for the Rooftop Communication Kit
in the AC distribution or to the power supply source.
