INSTRUCTIONS & PARTS LIST FOR "1DA" SERIES RIGHT ANGLE DIE GRINDERS
Read and understand "Safety Instructions For Air Tools" and these instructions before
Venturi Vacuum tools can cause flying particles when used with out exhaust hoses or dust bags.
Always use exhaust hoses and dust bags with Venturi Vacuum tools.
AIR SUPPLY
The efficiency of the tool is dependent on the proper supply of clean dry air at 90 psig (6.2 bar). The use of a line filter, pressure regulator, and
lubricator will insure maximum output and life of tools. Before connecting tool, blow out the air line to remove water and dirt which may have
accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
Supply hose should be not less than 1/4" (6.35 mm) I.D. Extension hoses should be at least 3/8" (10 mm) I.D. Use couplings and fittings with
at least 1/4" (6.35 mm) I.D.
LUBRICATION
• Use SIOUX No. 288 air motor oil. An airline lubricator, set to deliver 1 to 2 drops per minute, is recommended. If a lubricator is not used,
add .06 oz. (1.8 cc, 18 to 25 drops) of oil into the air inlet every 2 to 3 hours.
• Lubricate the angle head every 6-8 working hours with Sioux 1232A grease. The grease fitting is located on top of the angle head.
GENERAL OPERATION
• Speed of the tool may be adjusted by turning the speed control, located at the back of the tool, opposite the valve.
• When using the tool in a vise or toolpost holder, use moderate pressure.
• Refer to "Safety Guide for Sioux Abrasive Wheel" for abrasive wheel selection and safe operation.
• Angle head position can be rotated 360°. Be sure to keep the angle head retainer tight to prevent the angle head from turning.
• If the tool is equipped with a vacuum shroud, position the vacuum shroud as close to the work surface as possible for best pickup.
• When installing the backing pad, be sure to leave some clearance between the end of the shroud adapter and the backing pad so they
will not rub.
