914 In Place Roll Groover
3. Place 914 onto pipe/tube with integral carrying handle
up (Figure 5) .

4. Push 914 into pipe/tube until fully engaged. Square
end of pipe contacts both stabilizer pads on main
housing.
5. Rotate depth adjustment feed screw clockwise by
hand until tight. 914 should now be held in position on
the pipe/tube.
6. Disconnect ratchet from front socket by pushing re-
lease button. Re-engage ratchet on depth adjustment
feed screw (Figure 6) .

7. Rotate depth adjustment feed screw clockwise, using
the ratchet, until firm.

NOTE! Make sure knurled adjustment ring is not interfering
with the advancement of the depth adjustment feed
screw (Figure 7) .
Important: Extreme pressure caused by over ratcheting
will cause distortion to thin wall pipe.

Adjusting for Groove Depth

NOTE! The groove depth must be adjusted for each
pipe/tube diameter and wall thickness.
1. Rotate knurled adjustment ring counter-clockwise to
open sufficient space for the groove roll advancement.
See Chart 1 (Figure 3) .
NOTE! The distance created between the depth adjust-
ment ring and the feed screw block equals roll
groove depth. Adjustments up or down, with test
grooves, will ensure proper groove depths for
couplings.

2. Refer to Chart 1 for recommended number of rotations
for each pipe size and schedule. Chart 2 is for copper.
