Maintenance

Locking systems should be checked at least four times a year to ensure fitness for use. The locking system must
be checked to ensure that it is in proper working order.
The following routine maintenance checks must be carried out and documented in this regard:
y Inspection and actuation of the panic exit device to ensure that all the locking system's components are in a
y
satisfactory operating condition.
y It must be ensured that the keepers are not jammed or filled with dirt.
y
y It must be checked that the panic exit device has been lubricated in accordance with the manufacturer's
y
instructions.
y It must be checked that no additional locking devices have been fitted to the door at a later point in time.
y
y It must be regularly verified that all system components still correspond to the list of approved components
y
originally supplied with the system.
y It must be regularly checked that the operating element has been tightened properly.

To fulfill the required information and instruction liabilities according product liability laws dealers, locksmiths,
architects, designers, fabricators and users can use the following services and catalogues:

in the price lists and hand out all
required and delivered instructions to
the fabricator. If missing in the scope
of delivery all documentation can be
ordered from BKS,
• fabricators are advised to follow the
product information and to hand out
user and maintenance instructions to
the client or use. Missing instructions
can be orderd from BKS.
