Connection hints
1.
RS 485
The RS 485 interface has been designed for a 2 wire
connection and half duplex use. With the SW1.2 and 1.3
dip-switches the steady state can be configured through
polarization resistors. According to table 1, four different
end of line termination resistances can be set.
The transmission speed selection is made with the
SW2.1 – SW2.8 dip-switches according to the table 2.
2.
Fiber optic
Follow the recommendations (curve radius, etc...) given by
the manufacturers for fiber optic used.
In order to avoid dust, keep the emitter/receiver protective
caps in place and only remove them when connecting the
plugs (ST or FSMA with screw).
3.
Power supply voltage
Before connecting the power supply be sure that the voltage
is correct as specified by the label on the product.
4.
Shielding terminals
Terminals D, E, F, can be grounded, depending on the
application. Terminals G and F are internally connected to the
earth connection terminal through a R/C network (100 Ω and
4,7nF). A direct shield to protective earth connection can be
made with a jumper between the D and F terminals.
