Acute disorders affecting test performance (e.g. Vomiting ,
nausea, vertigo)
x
Recent eye surgery (increases in intraocular pressure during
spirometry)
x
Oral or facial pain exacerbated by a mouthpiece
x
recent myocardial infarction
x
post- operative thoracic surgery patients
x
hyperventilation syndrome
Note: Extensive exhalation might lead to syncope
