Special notes on jig sawing
Place the baseplate over the item so that the
blade is horizontal above the saw line but
not in contact with it.
Start the saw and tilt it carefully while
supporting it using the soleplate until the
blade touches the material at the saw line.
Allow the saw blade to work through the
material and continue to tilt the saw until it is
perpendicular to the material.
Sawing in metal
Lubricate the workpiece and the blade with
cutting oil to protect the tool and to avoid
overheating and discolouration. Support the
item with wooden blocks on either side.
Sawing in plastic
Never cut using the maximum speed.
Make a test cut rst to check if the material
can tolerate the heat generated by sawing.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe the saw using a well-wrung cloth as
required, and always keep the surface and
vent holes free of dirt.
Never use corrosive or abrasive cleaning
agents, as they may attack the plastic parts
of the saw.
