Description
ATS1740 Databus Isolator / Repeater allows to electrically
isolate the RS485 data bus where voltage differentials may
exist and extends the bus maximum length. The ATS1740 also
allows to retrofit existing installations with Advisor Master
control panels and accessories.
Mounting the unit
ATS1740 has a standard Aritech "B" board footprint,
mountable in existing Aritech metalwork. ATS1740 provides
isolation between devices connected to the RS485 databus
used in the ATS Control panel. It enables you to use the local
ground for earth connection of isolated databus segments and
increases the maximum databus cabling run from 1.5 km to
6 km using WCAT 52/54 cable and three ATS1740. For each
isolated databus segment a local powering should be provided.
The local terminations and local ground for each segment
should be fitted.

RX: Receiving data from the non-isolated databus.

TERM: Link is fitted on the first and last device on the databus
segment.

Connection J1 comms
+12, 0V: 12 VDC supply input. 90 mA maximum with no other
peripheral devices connected.
D+, D−: Positive and negative data connection of the RS485
databus.
Units can be up to 1.5 km from the 4 door DGP or control
panel, depending on the cable used. Recommended
WCAT 52/54; 2-pair twisted, shielded, data cable.
Connection J2 ISO485
IG: Isolated ground (− from isolated PSU).
D+, D−: Isolated. Positive and negative data connection of the
RS485 databus.
Units can be up to 1.5 km from the control panel or 4 door
DGP, depending on the cable used. Recommended
WCAT 52/54; 2-pair twisted, shielded, data cable.
