Degree of fouling
The following degrees of fouling are specified in ac-
cordance with IEC 664:
- Degree of fouling 1
No fouling or only dry, non-conductive fouling occurs.
The fouling has no influence.
- Degree of fouling 2
Only non-conductive fouling occurs. However, o ccasio-
nal conductance is to be expected due to c ondensation.
- Degree of fouling 3
Conductive fouling occurs, or dry, non-conductive fou-
ling that becomes conductive since condensation is to ‚
be expected.
- Degree of fouling 4
The fouling leads to continuous conductance due to con-
ductive dust, rain or snow.
