Initial operation

Make sure that you have sufficient ear protection for loud
noise sources. Risk of hearing damage.
Pay attention to the permitted environmental conditions
(technical data) to avoid faulty measurements.
Switch the appliance on using the On/Off switch (2). Pressing the
switch always switches the appliance on or off.
The measurement begins immediately after switching the appliance
on. The measurement, and the unit „dBA", are shown on the display.
In bad light conditions, the display light automatically switches on.
The light sensor (3) controls the display light.

If no button is pressed for 15 minutes, the meter switches off au-
tomatically. This saves the battery. When needed, switch the appli-
ance on again using the On/Off switch.

Measurement of a noise source has always to be carried
out directly. Ensure that there are no objects or persons
between the microphone and the noise source.
