Before use

Remove all packaging.
Clean the soleplate (see Cleaning and care).
Fill the water reservoir with distilled water
through the � ller nozzle until the water level
reaches the "MAX" mark.
Never use chemically softened water.
Plug the power cord in and turn the
temperature control to the highest
temperature setting. Once the indicator light
comes on, choose the steam iron function
and iron an old piece of cloth to remove any
residues from the soleplate.
When used for the � rst time, the iron may
give off a slight odour or smoke. This is
completely normal and will pass after a
short time. Ensure that there is plenty of
ventilation.

Adjusting the temperature

Check the label in the garment to be ironed
before adjusting the temperature. The label
will usually have an iron symbol combined
with a certain number of dots. These dots
specify which setting on the iron is to be
selected:
OFF
• Nylon
•• Silk
••• MAX Wool, cotton, linen
When ironing printed garments, etc., it is
best to iron them on the reverse at a low
temperature.
For garments consisting of a number of
diff erent materials, adjust the temperature to
suit the most delicate material.
It is a good idea to sort your ironing by
temperature.
Always start with the garments to be ironed
at the lowest temperature.

Dry ironing

Set the temperature according to the
instructions on the garment's label.
When the indicator light goes out, the set
temperature has been reached and you can
iron the garment.
Once you have � nished ironing, turn the
temperature control anticlockwise to the
"OFF" position. Place the iron upright and
unplug it.

Steam ironing

Fill the water reservoir as described above.
Steam ironing is possible at all four
temperature settings: • , •• , ••• and MAX.
For reliable steam ironing, the water reservoir
must be at least ¼ full.
Spray function: Press the spray button to
dampen the area to be ironed. Water will be
emitted from the spray nozzle.
You can switch between dry ironing and
steam ironing using the button (5). Select
steam ironing by pressing the button in.
Warning! The steam temperature is very
high. Do not steam iron clothes or materials
for immediate use by people or on animals.
