4. Installation
The installation should be carried out as follows:
4.1
Follow the safety instructions
Switch off main power to the elevator control system and mark clearly that the elevator is out of service.
 Follow all applicable safety measures.
Make sure that your installation complies with all applicable regulations and safety measures.
4.2
Mounting the emitter and receiver edges
The emitter (Tx) and the receiver (Rx) edge can be mounted either to the door wings, to the door wing and the slam
post, or to a frame that is attached to the car. Please note that the receiver (Rx) (the one with the blue connector) can
be sensitive to 'foreign' light. So it is recommended to mount the receiver (Rx) edge so that no sunlight shines directly
into the receiver lens.

4.3
Guide the emitter and receiver edge cables
Guide the cables properly using appropriate mounting material, e.g. cable protection tubes, neoprene cable ties, cable
guide wires (depending on the type of mounting kit used).
The cegard/Mini-MOD meets all standards for resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI). However, it is prudent
to guard against interference. Therefore, do not guide cegard/Mini-MOD connection cables close to cables carrying
high voltage and/or high current. The cegard/Mini-MOD cables should also be mounted as far away as possible from
the door drive motor or motor inverter (VVVF-drives) to avoid EMI problems.

The optical axis of the emitter (Tx) and the receiver edge
(Rx) need to be aligned towards each other to ensure the
light curtain functions reliably.

CAUTION
Possible health risks
It is important that the alignment angle of
the emitter (Tx) to the receiver (Rx) is less
than ±10° when the door is fully closed.
We recommend that you keep this angle
as close to zero as possible (see figure
left).
Reflective
surfaces
safeguarded area can cause reflections. Although the
cegard/Mini-MOD is very robust against such reflections,
it is always advisable to keep a reasonable distance
Rx
between the sensor edges and any reflective surface.
