• Retain the original packaging as it will serve for storing the appliance.
• Wash the grill plates and the accessories: follow the instructions in the paragraph "After
use/cleaning".
• Prime the grill plates by wiping over them using a little cooking oil.

Place and always use your appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
Place the appliance with the plate upwards.
Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished
furniture, etc.).
To prevent the appliance from overheating, do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can
move freely around the table without tripping over it.
Fully unwind the power cord.
Connect the cord on the appliance.
Put water in the tray (8) up to maximum level, put the spreader (7) in the tray.
Check that the thermostat (3) is in the mini position, then plug the cord into a wall socket.
Plug the appliance into a wall socket with an earth connection.
Check that your electric supply is compatible with the power and the voltage indicated
under the appliance.
If an extension cord is used:
- it must have at least an equivalent section and have an earth connection;
- take all necessary precautions to prevent anyone tripping over an extension cord.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cable or unit available
from the manufacturer or its after-sales service.
Both lights (4) and (5) light up ; the red lilght will remain lit to show that the appliance is plugged in
(A).
Then set the thermostat position according to the indications of the recipe book (B).
To cook traditional pancakes set the thermostat to the Max. position (C) ; when making thinner
pancakes, lower the thermostat setting if necessary.
Pre-heat the appliance for about 10 minutes.
The green light (5) lights up when the appliance reaches the selected temperature (C).
You can now start cooking.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
On first use, there may be a slight odour and a little smoke during the first few minutes. This is
harmless and should disappear quickly.
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.

After pre-heating, the appliance is ready for use.
Pour the batter on the side of the cooking plate (D) with the ladle (6).
For thinner crepes, fill the ladle (6) as far as the intermediate level.
