Always clean the pump with the right solvent for the
product being pumped. NEVER USE HALOGENATED
HYDROCARBONS.
The equipment must be cleaned:
1
Before using it for the first time, to eliminate any
remains of maintenance oil applied during
manufacture.
2
Each time a job is finished and the equipment is to be
stored.
3
When proceeding to apply a product which is different
(in colour or characteristics) to the one currently in
use.
Short stoppages
In the case of an interruption to work which does not
involve problem with the catalysing or hardening of the
product and accessories, leave the gravity cup without
emptying it and apply the decompression procedure
explained on page 2.
Cleaning the unit
1
Regulate the air inlet pressure to the pump at a low
value (2-2.5 bars).
1
Check the status of hoses daily.
2
Check the condition of all connections through which
product will flow before using the equipment.
3
Clean the equipment properly, following the procedure
given above, at the end of each job.
4
When it is necessary to lubricate the incoming air to
the unit, do this with SAE10 type oil without detergent
and regulate the air lubricator to no more than one
drip per minute.
5
Always use SAGOLA spare parts.
6
Never work with the unit empty in order to avoid
premature wear of the packing glands of the stuffing
box and piston.
2
Remove the suction probe from the transferred
product.
3
Wait until the product stops coming out of the outlet
hose.
4
Close the air inlet stop cock to the pump.
5
Close the air inlet regulator to the pump
(anticlockwise).
6
Place a correctly grounded metal container with the
right cleaning solvent in the product suction pipe.
7
Place the product outlet pipe in the same container
which contains the cleaning solvent. Hold this firmly.
Submerge the outlet end of the pipe in the cleaning
solvent in order to avoid splashing.
8
Open air inlet stop cock to the pump.
9
Operate the air inlet regulator to the pump until the
unit comes into operation.
10
Recycle for a time until cleaning is complete.
MAINTENANCE
7
If required, every day check and grease by means of
grease nipple (No. 18 figure-1) for the maintenance
and lubrication of the packing gland. The service life
of the unit depends on this greasing process.
8
Every time there is a leak through the packing gland
(No. 16 figure-1), this must be re-tightened with the
special rods supplied for this purpose, with the unit
draining (without pressure). Tighten until the leak is
eliminated. Then tighten a + turn more.
Do not tighten the packing gland excessively as
this will produce a premature wear of the packing
